Overview

The command is already on Collingwood Cuthbert — Biography. He held Mediterranean command from April 1806 — blockading Toulon, Cartagena, and Cadiz. The same note already records the four-and-a-half-year Commander-in-Chief posting after Trafalgar.¹

The Command

This note covers that Mediterranean command only. A fleet list, a ship-by-ship station, and a diplomatic narrative stay on RESEARCH_QUEUE.

He died at sea off Menorca on 7 March 1810. That death stays on the Collingwood note. Toulon Arsenal — French Naval Construction Centre and Cadiz — Spanish Naval Port are already filled as places. A spoken epithet stays on the Collingwood note and the source card, not here.²
