Córdova José de — Spanish Admiral sailed from Cartagena — Spanish Naval Port on 1 February 1797 with orders to escort a mercury convoy to Cadiz — Spanish Naval Port, then rendezvous with the French Brest fleet for the planned invasion of Britain.¹

The Convoy

This note covers that convoy, that 1 February sailing, and the mercury cargo only. A mercury-mine geography and a Brest invasion plan stay on RESEARCH_QUEUE.

The Córdova person note already restated a shorter Cartagena–Cadiz sentence. Spanish crew-quality stays on the battle note. The two-year Cadiz blockade after the battle stays there. Do not write those here.²
