This note covers those Hardy days only. A gun-count, a launch year, and a later career stay on RESEARCH_QUEUE. By God I’ll not lose Hardy — 11 February 1797 already uses the spoken line. That sentence stays there.

Off Cadiz — Spanish Naval Port on 11 February 1797 a topman fell from Minerve. Hardy went away in a boat. Nelson, commodore aboard, refused to abandon him. The Spanish broke off and Hardy was recovered.²
