Spartiate is already on the Battle of the Nile 1798 — Overview. Around 8:30pm on 1 August 1798 she fired the langridge that struck Nelson Horatio — Biography Overview on the forehead aboard HMS Vanguard — Nelson’s Nile Flagship.¹

A flap of skin fell over Nelson’s face and he believed himself dying, but he returned to the quarterdeck before L’Orient — French 120-gun Flagship caught fire around 9pm.²
