Overview
The 1784 attraction and sketches stay on Mary Moutray — English Harbour 1784. This note covers the Latona pendant strike only. A rate for Latona is not stated here.1
The Strike
Southey says Nelson found Latona in English Harbour, Antigua, with a broad pendant hoisted under a written order from Sir R. Hughes that resident commissioner Moutray might hoist one. Concluding that a resident commissioner held only a civil situation, the moment that he had anchored he sent an order to the captain of the Latona to strike it, and return it to the dock-yard.2
The spoken line about superior officers stays off this page. Dining with the commissioner the same day stays on RESEARCH_QUEUE.
