The succession is already on Collingwood Cuthbert — Biography. He twice succeeded Nelson Horatio — Biography Overview directly — as commander of HMS Badger in 1779 and as post-captain of HMS Hinchinbrook in 1780.1

The Succession

This note covers that 1779–1780 succession only. A ship rate, a gun-count, and a later posting stay on RESEARCH_QUEUE.

Do not write Badger or Hinchinbrook as rated ships. The same Collingwood sentence already names Mary Moutray at English Harbour, Antigua, in 1784. That isolate stays a red-link. Nelson Post-Captain — 1779 is Nelson’s captaincy, not this succession.2
